What is the difference between acupuncture and needleless acupuncture?

Needleless acupuncture is called Meridian Therapy. It is the stimulation of the acu- point with something other than a needle. Some doctors are trained to use micro-current, cold laser, or digital pressure to stimulate the point. Our office offers both approaches to treatment. We primarily use traditional acupuncture needles but will work with your preference.

Is Acupuncture painful?

Most people claim that acupuncture is a relaxing treatment. Because the needles are so small in size they are often inserted without the patients knowledge. Sometimes you may feel a little pinch that only lasts a few seconds. It is nothing like a hypodermic needle. It is possible to fit 4-6 acupuncture needles inside a hypodermic needle.

What is it doing?

The theory of how acupuncture works is best explained with comparing the meridian balancing with the common television….. What? Do you remember when televisions and radios required long wire-like antennas to get good reception? And when you placed the antenna in the proper position your picture/sound came in clear? Acupuncture needles are like your bodies antennas. In order to have clarity in your meridian system your “antennas” are placed in specific locations to help your body function at its optimum.
