Introducing Omaha Chiropractor, Dr. Julie Owen-Wagner

Omaha Chiropractor, Dr. Julie Owen-WagnerI was born in lovely Little Rock, Arkansas yet grew up in a small town near Kansas City.

When I was a junior in high school I started asking myself the question "What do I want to do with my life?". I knew I wanted to help people and fortunately my family gave me the confidence that I could do anything I chose. Because chiropractic had helped my stepmother so much, she suggested I consider the field. It was then that I felt compelled to follow her advice. Little did I know at the time that it would be the most important decision of my life. Chiropractic has led me to my husband (Dr. Trevor Wagner), given me the knowledge to change patients’ lives, improved my own health, and allowed me to enjoy a fulfilling life.

After graduating from Bonner Springs High school in 1989, I received an academic scholarship to Kansas City Kansas Community College. My undergraduate studies were there, Park College, and Donnelly College. I then attended Cleveland Chiropractic College of Kansas City, where I met my husband. We both graduated with honors in 1995. Dr. Trevor and I opened West Omaha Chiropractic & Sports Injury Clinic in November 1996 and got married in January 1997. I received my Fellowship credentials from the International Academy of Medical Acupuncture in 1998 and still provide acupuncture services today. Dr. Trevor and I attended a Wellness program series in 2006 which helped change our entire perspective on a healthy lifestyle. We have since tried to implement eating well, moving well, and thinking well into our lives. Not only do we want to be a good example for our patients but we also want to enjoy a longer better quality of life.

We have three beautiful healthy children, Olivia, Nate, and Meredith. We enjoy family outings and we work out at least five times per week. I also enjoy dance, scrapbooking, attending hockey games, spending time with my bunco friends, and knitting.

Dr. Trevor Asks some important questions of interest to Omaha residents - Chiropractor Omaha Dr. Trevor Asks...

What is the purpose of pain?
Pain prompts many Omaha folks to begin chiropractic care. But pain isn't the problem! Pain is just how your body alerts you that a limit has been reached (or exceeded), that something isn't working right and that some type of change is needed. As a chiropractor, my job is finding the underlying cause and recommending the changes needed to bring your body back into balance.
Which organs are extra?
You don't have any spare parts. Sure, we can survive without our tonsils, appendix, gall bladder and several other tissues, but each serves a purpose. We chiropractors recognize this. So the chiropractic approach I use in Omaha is to reduce nerve interferences to the control and regulation of every tissue, organ and system of your body.
